Abstract

This article explores the poetic interrelationships between memory, words and images in Por gracia de hombre by Chilean writer Verónica Zondek. It is proposed that her writing is projected as a collaborative work of memory in which dialogues are established with multiple subjects, texts and discourses. Besides, we suggest that the drawings and engravings by Guillermo Núñez included in the book allow for reflection on the visual role in the pursuit of the poetic rendering of the past. Finally, it is concluded that Zondek uses Núñez’s images to give voice and body to the poetic image of the other.
